TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A weak front is stalling across the area today which is helping to spark a few more showers and thunderstorms.

Rain chances will increase to a 50% for scattered showers and thunderstorms moving onshore from the Gulf and drifting inland throughout the afternoon.

Temperatures will be hot this afternoon with highs in the low 90s and feels like temperatures between 105 and 110 degrees this afternoon.
The onshore wind pattern will continue keeping the chance for morning showers along the coast in the forecast through the end of the week.
Wednesday will be more of the same with the 50% rain chance but even higher chances are expected on Thursday with more widespread downpours.

A return to more afternoon thunderstorm activity comes back this weekend and into early next week.
The tropics remain quiet for now with no new development expected in the next 5 to 7 days.
