GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Cecil Lamar Jackson III, 30, was arrested yesterday after allegedly exposing himself to multiple people at Jersey Mike’s, including at least two children.

At about 10:38 a.m., a Gainesville Police Department (GPD) officer responded to a call about a man exposing himself at Jersey Mike’s (3720 NW 13th Street).

One woman reportedly told the officer that she saw Jackson with his pants down, holding his genitals, when she walked into the store. She said Jackson made eye contact with her and began touching himself as she walked by with her six- and seven-year-old children.

An employee of the store reported that he was outside, filling a Door Dash order, when he saw Jackson exposing himself to passersby; the employee said it appeared as if Jackson was exposing himself to women.

Another employee of the store reported that she was also outside filling an order when Jackson walked up to her with his pants down. She said Jackson smiled at her and started intentionally shaking his genitals.

A GPD officer who was inside the store at the time reportedly saw the entire incident and confirmed that Jackson pulled down his pants and fully exposed himself to passersby.

Jackson was reportedly found sitting in front of the store, with his pants halfway down his thighs and his genitals barely covered by his boxers.

Jackson allegedly gave the responding officer the name “Cela Lama Jala,” with his actual date of birth. When he was booked into the jail, he was correctly identified. Post Miranda, he reportedly declined to answer any questions.

Jackson has been charged with two counts of lewd/lascivious exhibition with juvenile victims, three counts of indecent exposure, and providing false identification information to law enforcement.

Jackson, who has lived in Alachua County his whole life, has a juvenile conviction but no adult criminal convictions. He was arrested in 2021 for illegally carrying a concealed firearm, but the charge was later dropped. He is also facing a 2023 sworn complaint for lewd/lascivious conduct, but no warrant was ever issued. Judge Jonathan Ramsey set bail on the new charges at $580,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
