GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Andrew Keith Woodham, 34, was arrested yesterday after allegedly telling a delivery driver he lived at an apartment and then accepting a TV that was being delivered to the apartment and walking away with the TV.

At about 3 p.m., a Gainesville Police Department officer responded to Sweetwater Square Apartments, where the victim said she had ordered a TV and a silverware set from Walmart. When she received a notification that the items had been delivered by FedEx, she asked another person to go downstairs and get the items from the driver, but that person said there was nothing there.

The victim notified FedEx, and the driver reportedly said a man had accepted the TV and said he lived at the apartment; the driver said that after accepting the TV, the man walked northbound on NE 15th Street with the TV.

Officers reportedly found Woodham at a nearby church and brought him back to the apartment complex, where Woodham reportedly said he would show the officers where he put the TV. However, after searching the location provided by Woodham, the TV was not found.

The TV was worth about $300, and the silverware set was worth about $70.

Woodham has been charged with felony petit theft because he has previous convictions for petit theft. Woodham has ten felony convictions (one violent) and 16 misdemeanor convictions (one violent); he has served three state prison sentences, with his most recent release in 2022. Judge Susanne Wilson Bullard set bail at $5,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
