Robbie Williams will perform a free public gig in Federation Square in Melbourne tomorrow afternoon.

Premier Jacinta Allan announced the surprise performance tonight in a simple tweet: “Robbie Williams. Fed Square. Tomorrow. 5pm. For Free.”

The British superstar will use the performance to promote his new biopic, Better Man, which was filmed in Melbourne.

“Williams will share insights about the film and perform some of his biggest hits featured in the movie,” the official events page for Federation Square said.

“In a special gesture to honour Robbie’s contribution to the city, he will be presented with the Keys to the City by Lord Mayor Nick Reece.”

Better Man is based on Williams’ meteoric rise to fame, dramatic fall, and resurgence to become known as one of the greatest entertainers of all time.
