Kmart Australia has sent shoppers racing after releasing an affordable and conveniently designed cordless spot cleaner.

The $79 product can be used to clean carpets and rugs, car interiors, stairs, fabric upholstery and more.

The budget retailer demonstrated how the buy works in a video posted on TikTok, which had shoppers eager to buy.

‘This is the best way to keep your home spotless,’ a woman said in the clip.

‘It’s cordless, lightweight and super easy to carry around. You just fill it up with water and low foam cleaning solution.’

After using the product to clean a beige couch, the water turned dark grey after collecting all the filth within the material.

It’s also the perfect alternative to spending thousands on expensive cleaning equipment and can be used thoroughly on spots or marks.

As the spot cleaner is still new it’s yet to launch on the Kmart website but is available in stores.

The video quickly caught the attention of others, many of which were intrigued by the product.

‘No way! Awesome,’ one wrote.

‘Seriously, now you bring a cordless version out when I just bought the big corded one like a month ago,’ another added.

A third shopper wanted to know when the product will be available in New Zealand. Others tagged friends in the comments.

However, one professional cleaner disapproved of the budget buy.

‘Another problem created to stuff up customer upholstery, rugs and the rest that comes with DIY home cleaning machines,’ the cleaner wrote.

‘Issue is, it’s a great idea but no where near practical as it doesn’t have strong suction and will definitely leave the materials over wet and eventually turn smelly, mouldy as well as damage some types of materials.’

Others encouraged shoppers to invest in alternative products rather than buying a cheap spot cleaner from Kmart.

‘You will get one thousands per cent  better results with a cheap wet/dry vacuum from Bunnings and a spray bottle,’ one wrote.

‘Weak suction – use a professional company strong commercial grade equipment used,’ another said.
