As we step into 2025, a new wave of babies will be born, marking the beginning of a new generation — Gen Beta. This new generation will experience a world vastly different from anything previous generations have known. While it’s impossible to predict all the changes they will face, one thing is certain: Gen Beta will inherit a world that is rapidly evolving in terms of technology, society, and the environment.

In a recent blog post, by social researcher expert Mark McCrindle, who coined the term “Generation Alpha,” stated that this new generation will “live in an era where AI and automation are fully embedded in everyday life – from education and workplaces to healthcare and entertainment.”

Additionally, Gen Beta will likely be the first generation to “experience autonomous transportation at scale, wearable health technologies, and immersive virtual environments as standard aspects of daily life.”

McCrindle went on to state that in addition to all of the technological wonders in advancement that Gen Beta will inherit, they will also inherit a myriad of challenges as well.

Gen Beta “will inherit a world grappling with major societal challenges. With climate change, global population shifts, and rapid urbanization at the forefront, sustainability will not just be a preference but an expectation.” McCrindle pointed out that by the year 2035, Gen Beta will make up 16% of the world’s population.

Socially, Gen Beta could see more diversity and inclusion as core tenets of societal values. With global communication growing increasingly accessible, these children will be connected to cultures, ideas, and experiences from around the world. They will be more likely to view themselves as global citizens, understanding the interconnectedness of people and communities on a global scale.

As we can see, Gen Beta is set to be a generation that experiences an era of transformation, both technologically and socially. Their ability to adapt to a changing world will define the next chapter in human progress, and they will carry the responsibility of shaping the future for generations to come.
