David Beckham kicked off the New Year with some father-daughter bonding time as he took in a basketball game with youngest child Harper at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Thursday.

The football ace, 49, cosied up to his 13-year-old daughter for a sweet snap as they sat courtside to watch Miami Heat take on the Indiana Pacers, with the latter soon emerging victorious.

Cutting a cool figure, David kept his look simple in a plain white T-shirt which he paired with black jeans and pale pink Adidas trainers.

While Harper also rocked a casual white T-shirt for the sporting event, accessorising her look with a stylish pink handbag.

Former England player David, who is now the co-owner of soccer club Inter Miami, looked in great spirits as he was greeted with cheers as he made his way onto the court, before shaking hands with other game goers.

It proved to be a star-studded event as British rapper Central Cee was also in attendance.

David’s appearance comes just days after he cheerfully rang in the New Year with his loved ones as they lived it up in Miami after jetting off for a festive getaway. 

David, who has once again, been snubbed for a knighthood in the New Year’s Honours list – brushed off the spurn as he took to Instagram in the early hours of Wednesday morning to share a selection of sweet family snaps. 

Among the images was a sweet shot of the former footballer puckering up to Victoria, 50, as well as throwbacks of the family at his Inter Miami CF games, posing with the Emmy he won for his eponymous Netflix docuseries and a shirtless snap. 

David captioned the post: ‘Happy New Year from myself, my wife and my amazing kids… Thank you for unforgettable year and I want to wish everyone a happy and healthy 2025 ❤️ Love David x’. 

Victoria also took to social media to share a post, uploading a video dancing with David to Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers’ Islands in the Stream. 

She captioned the clip: ‘My number one dancing partner, my everything ❤️ I love you so so much X’. 

Their youngest son Cruz, 19, saw in 2025 with girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 29, with the pair watching the fireworks.

He wrote in Portuguese: ‘Feliz ano novo’, which means Happy New Year in English. 

Cruz’s older brother Romeo, 25, rang in the new year with his new girlfriend Kim Turnbull, 25, as they enjoyed a luxury meal overlooking the London Eye ahead of the cities amazing fireworks display. 

The family’s celebrations came after David was left off the New Year’s Honours list despite his royal family friendships, while his former Three Lions teammate Gareth Southgate was given the top gong.

Just last month, ex-England captain David was spotted rubbing shoulders with King Charles and Queen Camilla for a banquet to mark the state visit of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

He was said to be ‘humbled’ by his invitation and, along with Victoria, ‘very happy’ to be there.

David, an avid royalist since he was a schoolboy in Chingford, received his OBE from the late Queen in 2003, and for a time it seemed as though a knighthood might be within his grasp.

While his appointment as an ambassador to HM’s charity the King’s Foundation was deemed an encouraging sign earlier this year, David’s complicated tax affairs have been viewed as a possible barrier. 

David’s appearance comes just days after he cheerfully rang in the New Year with his loved ones and smooched wife Victoria as they lived it up in Miami after jetting off for a festive getaway.

And in February 2017, there was a slew of leaked emails showing the former footballer had appeared to unleash a barrage of expletives criticising the honours committee that had once again left him off the list for a coveted gong.

There was also an alleged 2013 leaked email, when, bitter not to be knighted, he complained about Katherine Jenkins, fuming ‘Katherine Jenkins OBE for what? Singing at the rugby and going to see the troops. Plus taking coke. F****** joke.’

He was left off the list once again, with former England manager Gareth instead being bestowed with the honour following the Three Lions’ progress to the Euros final in Germany this summer – after also finishing runners-up at Euro 2020.

A source told MailOnline: ‘It’s Gareth’s big hurrah and David is thrilled for him. David knew it wouldn’t be his time and he is fine with that but you never know what is down the line.’
