Jennifer Lopez currently has two kids who she shares with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. However, she wouldn’t be opposed to having more.

Jennifer Lopez wouldn’t mind having another child even as she ages

Lopez was 38 years old when she had her kids with Marc Anthony. When she discovered she was pregnant, it came as a pleasant surprise to learn she was having two kids instead of one.

 “The doctor says, ‘You see that? That little grain of rice? That’s the baby,’ and we were like ‘Oh my God, we are having a baby,’” Lopez told her kids on her YouTube channel Jennifer Lopez. “And then he says, ‘You see this other little grain of rice over here? That’s the other baby.’ And I was like, ‘What?!’ And I start laughing hysterically. I just laughed out loud. I couldn’t believe it. And that’s how I found out I was having twins.”

Having kids has been a rewarding and sometimes even life-saving experience for the singer. Speaking with People, Lopez touched on some of the many ways her family changed her.

“Kids make you believe in all kinds of things, like how anything is possible,” she said.

Even in her older years, Lopez wasn’t opposed to reliving the joys of childbirth again. But she conceded it seemed more and more unlikely that would happen as time went on.

 “I don’t know if it’s in the cards for me because of my age. But I would love to have another baby, to be blessed one more time,” she said.

Specifically, the “I’m Real” singer would’ve liked to have twins again, too.

“I’d love to have twins again,” she added. “I was thinking about that last night when I was laying in bed with Emme; I was just loving the moment. I don’t know that it’s in the cards, but you never know!”

Although she enjoyed having kids, Lopez confided that being a mother could be challenging. Especially when it came to raising her children the way she wanted to. Becoming a parent meant Lopez had to balance her own issues with her obligations as a parent. She admitted that this wasn’t the easiest thing to do at times.

“Being a mom and knowing what it is to want to give the best to your children and put forward your best face all the time, but also be struggling as a woman in relationships and in life, with your own dreams and your own aspirations and what that means and that feels like,” she once explained in an interview with British Vogue.

Lopez had to learn through experience that she was still allowed to be a human being even though she was a mother.

“To me, I was like, OK, there’s so much going on here and I understood it,” she said. “As a mom, you always want to put your best foot forward; you want to lift them up. But that doesn’t stop you from being a human being who struggles.”

Still, Lopez wondered from time to time if she fell short for her kids regarding being a single parent. One of her recent movies, Unstoppable, gave her comfort knowing that she didn’t need a partner to raise her kids. In the feature, she played a single mother caring for a disabled athlete, which was based on the true life story of Anthony Robles. Because of the film’s motherhood themes, she couldn’t help but reflect on her own life when doing the project.

“I’ve been a single mom at times in my life. And [I’ve asked,] ‘Am I enough for them?’ And the truth is, all you need is really one good parent to love you. You hear it in Anthony’s voice, and look what he’s been able to accomplish. That’s what the movie gave me: You are enough,” she told Entertainment Weekly.
