(WCIA) — In a historic move during the transfer portal era, Illinois football will return all five starters on the offensive line plus its quarterback behind them next season.

Left tackle JC Davis announced on social media that he would “run it back” with Illinois next season.

Davis spent his freshman year playing junior college ball at Contra Costa College before playing two seasons at New Mexico. He joined Illinois for the 2024 campaign and ended the year as an All-Big Ten selection.

With 37 consecutive starts under his belt, Davis has 2,357 career snaps at left tackle and has allowed just two sacks in his last 25 games played.

According to Robert Rosenthal of IlliniBoard.com, Illinois will return all but four starters from the Citrus Bowl lineup.
