Zendaya got engaged to Tom Holland over the holidays.

The question was popped ‘between Christmas and New Year’s,’ TMZ reported on Monday after she flashed a diamond engagement ring at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The actor got down on one knee ‘in a very intimate setting in one of Zendaya’s family homes in the United States,’ the site added.

It was also claimed that no family was around them as it was just the two of them when he asked the beauty to become Mrs Holland.

The proposal was also called ‘romantic and not over the top.’

Zendaya sparked engagement rumors after she flashed a massive diamond ring on her wedding finger. 

The 28-year-old superstar, who has been in a romance with Spider-Man co-star Tom Holland since 2021, seemed to have more to celebrate than just her acting nomination for Challengers at the star-studded event.

While her burnt tangerine Louis Vuitton gown and her new bob hairstyle certainly turned heads, it was the dazzling accessory on her left hand that had everyone talking – and it has been valued at $500,000. 

A stunning solitaire diamond glistened on her finger, leaving fans wondering if Holland—who did not attend the event—had finally popped the question. 

One fan humorously wrote, ‘My mom says Zendaya is wearing an engagement ring, can we get fact-checkers on this?’

However, fans were truly sent into a frenzy when many noticed what appeared to be a small tattoo of the letter ‘t’ near the top of her left ribcage. 

‘Zendaya showing off a supposed engagement ring and a ‘t’ tattoo wasn’t on my golden globes bingo card but I’m loving it,’ read a tweet.

Another excited follower commented, ‘Cancel the golden globes until someone figures out if Zendaya is wearing an engagement ring!!!!’ 

The ring quickly sparked a flurry of speculation online, with fans debating whether it was an engagement ring or simply a stunning piece of jewelry. 

Some pointed out the gold band, while others noted its striking resemblance to Dakota Johnson’s rumored engagement ring. 

Many also theorized that Zendaya wouldn’t have worn it unless it was indeed a genuine engagement ring.

Others were quick to notice it looked similar to engagement ring designs by London based jeweler Jessica McCormack.

Jessica’s page posted a snap of a similar ring back in September describing it as a east-west cushion ring.

Laura Taylor, jeweler specializing in engagement and wedding rings at Lorel Diamonds has estimated it could be worth around $500,000. 

She told MailOnline: ‘The ring itself features a sizable diamond, likely in the 5-6 carat range, set on a simple yellow gold band.’

A major hint also emerged when X user @queendayaa_ shared a clip of Zendaya sitting at her Golden Globe reception table, subtly showing off the ring to Hollywood mogul Amy Pascal.

Pascal, the former chairperson of Sony Pictures Entertainment, is known for overseeing major films like the Spider-Man franchise.

‘Ohhh she’s definitely engaged. I’m really trying to stay calm and not lose it,’ one commenter wrote, reacting to the video.

The rumors come after Holland, who owns a $3 million London pad with Zendaya and shares two dogs with her, recently vowed to ‘disappear’ from the spotlight once he starts a family of his own.

The English star revealed that he would be content with nothing more than spending time with his kids and playing the occasional round of golf.

Speaking to Men’s Health magazine last week, he said, ‘When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore. Golf and dad—and I will just disappear off the face of the earth.’

Zendaya and Tom met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017 but have mostly kept their relationship out of the public eye.

Tom previously shared the reason behind his desire for privacy, saying that his relationship with Zendaya is ‘the thing I keep most sacred.’

In a 2022 appearance on Jay Shetty’s podcast, he explained, ‘My relationship is the thing I keep most sacred. I don’t talk about it. I try my best to keep it as private as possible.’ 

He added, ‘We both feel like that is the healthiest way for us to move on as a couple, so I do try to keep as removed from Hollywood as possible.’

Zendaya and Tom met on the set of Spider-man: Homecoming in 2017, but predominantly keep their relationship out of the public eye.

The 2025 Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Emmy-nominated comedian Nikki Glaser, took place at The Beverly Hilton hotel.

Zendaya has previously received two Golden Globe nominations and took home the award for her standout performance as Rue in Euphoria in 2023.
