DONALD Trump has made another last-ditch effort to throw out his conviction on hush money charges ahead of his scheduled sentencing on Friday.
The president-elect requested a New York state appeals court to dismiss the case after Justice Juan Merchan rejected his attempt to delay the sentencing on Monday.
Trump’s lawyers requested to delay the sentencing until after his inauguration into the White House on January 20.
His team is appealing two of his previous rulings from when he was found guilty in May on 34 felony counts of falsifying records.
Trump is expected to hold a news conference from Mar-a-Lago within the hour.
It comes after Merchan made a surprise ruling on Friday announcing Trump’s sentencing for January 10 after indefinitely suspending the sentencing in November.
