Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have agreed to split the profits on their Beverly Hills mansion when it eventually sells. Here’s what to know about their divorce settlement.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have finally reached a divorce agreement after initially filing for the split in August 2024. The exes were married for two years before officially calling it quits. And they tied the knot without a prenuptial agreement. Affleck and Lopez put their $60 million Beverly Hills mansion up for sale during the summer of 2024, and it remains for sale in 2025. According to their divorce settlement documents, they agreed to split the profits of the mansion when it eventually sells. Here’s what to know.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez agreed to split the profits on the Beverly Hills mansion they can’t seem to sell

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez had to sort through their assets following the divorce filing on Aug. 20, 2024. Without a prenup, the exes utilized a divorce lawyer to carefully split their belongings. As for their Beverly Hills mansion, documents obtained by In Touch Weekly show Affleck and Lopez chose to evenly split the profits when they sell the house.

Lopez and Affleck bought their mansion for $60.8 million in 2023. A year later, the couple listed the house for $68 million. They haven’t had luck selling the place, as they’ve seemingly only had one serious potential buyer who backed out.

A source told In Touch Weekly in October 2024 that the couple didn’t expect the “setback” of not selling the mansion.

“Part of the reason that Ben agreed to play nice and go to these joint mediations was to try and get things settled as soon as possible,” the source alleged. “But they weren’t counting on these setbacks, particularly with the sale of their house.”

The insider added that the couple couldn’t settle the divorce without selling the house. However, this has proven false, as Affleck and Lopez settled in January 2024 despite the lack of a sale.

Jennifer Lopez allegedly thought someone would’ve ‘snapped’ up the house by the end of 2024

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez allegedly didn’t expect to have trouble selling their mansion. An insider told In Touch Weekly in December 2024 that Lopez “assumed” she and Affleck would have sold their home by now, especially considering how she added “renovations and personal touches.”

“She can’t wait to get the hell out of the house when she can and assumed it would have happened by now and someone would have snapped it up, especially after the renovations and personal touches she added, but nothing’s happened,” the source exclusively told the publication. “Of course, she’s been told it’s only a select group of buyers who would be interested and have that kind of money, but it’s becoming increasingly frustrating being there.”

The exes might be having trouble selling the mansion because of their high asking price. While Lopez and Affleck stand to lose money with a $68 million price, a West Coast real estate investor told NewsNation that the home is really only worth $40-50 million.

J.Lo allegedly ‘put down the bulk of cash’ for her and Ben Affleck’s mansion

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck shared the Beverly Hills mansion. However, a source told In Touch Weekly that Lopez “put down the bulk of cash” for the house and “paid for many of the renovations.” Ultimately, Lopez hoped “to get her investment back.”

Affleck seemed to have less investment in the property. Before he and Lopez officially called it quits on their marriage, he moved into a Brentwood rental property. He then bought a $20 million Pacific Palisades home much simpler than the $60 million Beverly Hills place. A source told People that Affleck’s place could easily become a “bachelor pad” for the actor.
