() As wildfires continue to rage across Los Angeles County, actress Sharon Stone has turned her home into a shelter and is helping coordinate relief efforts for displaced residents.

Stone and local businesses are organizing collection centers for those who have lost their homes to the fires, which have killed at least five people and destroyed more than 1,000 structures, mostly residences.

“We’re loading up trucks and taking everything we have over to the Coop,” a store on Beverly Boulevard, Stone said Wednesday on ‘s “Banfield.” “We’re inviting our friends over to move in with us here.”

The Coop will serve as a distribution center for donations including gently used clothing, shoes and bedding, starting at 10 a.m. PT Thursday.

The fires have forced more than 130,000 people to evacuate across the metropolitan area, from the Pacific Coast to Pasadena. A new blaze, dubbed the Sunset Fire, erupted Wednesday night near the Hollywood Bowl and other landmarks in the Hollywood Hills, prompting additional evacuation orders that extended to Santa Monica.

“We recognize that there has been apocalyptic tragedies all over the world,” Stone said. “This will get better if we all help each other.”

Officials say the danger remains high as new fires continue to spread across the region.
