Actor Stephen Baldwin is just one of many celebrities competing in reality TV’s most grueling competition series. Stephen will test both his physical and mental abilities on Season 3 of Fox’s Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.

When asked how his wife of 35 years, Kennya Baldwin, felt about her husband participating in the grueling reality TV show, Stephen shared that she wasn’t necessarily happy about it, but supported his decision. ” She just looks at me like you’re just gonna do what you’re gonna do anyway…whether I say do it or not.”

The actor’s famous daughter, Hailey Bieber, hasn’t spoken out about her dad’s new journey in Special Forces. It has people wondering what Stephen and Hailey’s relationship is like today.

Hailey Bieber Once Clashed With Her Father Over His Political Beliefs

Stephen Baldwin is known for his conservative beliefs and often clashed with his brother, Alec Baldwin, who famously often spoofs President Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live. In a November 2024 Instagram post just days after the presidential election, Stephen made it somewhat known that he no longer bothers with politics. Sharing a funny clip of his brother being yelled at by someone impersonating Trump, Stephen captioned it, “Grateful to be, retired from politics.”

However, there was a time when Stephen made it very clear that he aligned with the Republican Party. During the 2016 election, Stephen endorsed Trump, who had defeated Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. The actor would attend rallies and even called his brother’s SNL skits not “very funny.”

Stephen and his daughter, Hailey, also had vastly different political viewpoints. Speaking with The Times in 2017, Hailey stated:

“We didn’t see eye to eye. It was a very big issue for me, but my dad’s still my dad.”

Hailey told the outlet that although they would find themselves at odds with one another over politics, he might have had a change of heart. “It’s over now, and his opinions have changed with how everything’s now unfolding. Every day, the news freaks me out. It’s terrifying.”

During the 2020 presidential election, Hailey made her stance clear that she was supporting Joe Biden, while her father continued to endorse Trump for re-election. Wearing a t-shirt endorsing Biden on Instagram, she wrote:

“It’s world mental health day, and something that has affected my mental health is the state of our country and the future of our country. I have hope, but we need to collectively make the change we want for our future and that means getting out there to VOTE!!!”

That same day, her father took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to endorse Trump.

However, it doesn’t look like Hailey and her father’s relationship has been affected by their opposing political beliefs. She told The Times, “I would never let politics get in the way of family.”

Hailey Called Her Dad About Changing Her Famous Family’s Last Name

Despite coming from a very famous family, Hailey grew up in a relatively normal household, which was something her parents wanted for their daughter. Speaking to Vogue Arabia in 2018, she shared,

“The way they raised us was so far removed from Hollywood that we didn’t really bring any aspects of the industry into our home. I got to have a normal childhood and teenage years. I didn’t start getting recognition on my own until I was around 19,” she told the outlet.

In her interview, the model also stated that it was only after she became famous that she realized the importance of keeping her family close.

“I’ve learned the importance of family. Being close to my own has helped me so much in this industry. It’s great to have those strong ties.”

sought advice from her father
during Justin’s journey to sobriety. In 2021, she shared on the
Victoria’s Secret Voice
podcast, “My dad was always really open about [his addiction] and I always appreciated that … I was always really, really close to my dad. … He was just always, like, extremely open about why being sober was what worked for him and why we needed to be sober and what alcoholic behavior looks like, and where that comes out.”

Being so close to her family, Hailey even asked her dad about changing her last name to Bieber when she wed Justin in 2018. Talking to Bustle in 2019, she shared that it was important for her to discuss the change with Stephen because she was very proud to be a Baldwin.

“I’m very proud of my family name. I come from a great family with a history in this industry. I remember when I was going to change it, I asked my dad if he was going to be upset and he was like, ‘No! I don’t care. We love you. All good, everyone still knows you’re a Baldwin.’ It’s true!'” Hailey expressed.

Stephen Was Overjoyed When He Became A Grandfather For The Second Time

Stephen and Kennya became grandparents for the second time when Hailey and Justin welcomed their son, Jack Blue Bieber, into the world in August 2024. At the time, Stephen took to X to express his happiness for his daughter and son-in-law. Sharing a photo of Hailey’s finger holding up her son’s little foot, he wrote:

“#Congratulations Mr&Mrs Bieber #Grandson #blessed.”

In a December 2024 interview with People, ahead of the premiere of Special Forces, Stephen was asked about his daughter’s newborn. It appeared that he was spending time with his grandson as much as possible.

When the outlet asked “how much he’s enjoying time with his baby grandson,” the actor shared, “The best. Jack Blues is here. “He’s just a little muffin and he’s eating like a pig and looking cuter than ever.”

In September 2024, Stephen also shared with People that he was on grandpa duty as his eldest daughter, Alaia, is also a mom to a daughter named Iris Elle, who was born in 2020. When addressing Jack Blues, the reality star shared, “And of course, here comes Jack Blues Bieber. And yeah, he’s just… I don’t want to say too much. He’s unbelievably cute.”
