Shenseea says she has never had a “ho” phase and some of her female fans took offense by it.

The Jamaican singer has never been shy about sharing whats on her mind on X, but this particular post went viral this week. “Never had a ‘ho’ phase, I don’t want none either lol what’s fun about being ran through?” she wrote in a post on X/Twitter. A lot of her female fans reacted, but a reaction from Rubi Rose also caught everyone off guard, though it appears she might be trolling. Rose wrote, “Same. bc ew! Tf.”

Shenseea has since deleted the tweet after catching heat from some of her female fans. According to the “Hit & Run” singer, the post sends the wrong message because some folks thinks that she is discriminating against them for their personal preferences. “I deleted that tweet because i love and support all women. I don’t want y’all to think i’m discriminating against us,” she wrote.

“Her songs are just for entertainment purposes y’all big mad because she chose not to be a ho,” one fan said.

Some fans accused Shenseea of sending a different message from what some of her music are sending, while others remind fans that her music is art and shouldn’t be taken personal. “Next time don’t delete you were right baby girl,” one fan wrote. “Message totally different from your music but I get it. Next time stand on business people will always be offended regardless,” another said.

In the meantime, Shenseea is heading into the 2025 Grammys with her first solo Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album for her sophomore LP, Never Gets Late Here. If she wins, Shenseea would be only the second female Jamaican artist to win a Grammy in that category. In reacting to the Grammy nod last year, the “Shenyeng Anthem” singer shed tears on Instagram Live while reflecting on her journey.

Shenseea has had a big year in music last year with the success of her album and going on a major arena tour over the summer and joining Jhene Aiko on her tour in the fall. The Grammy-nominee also scored several big dancehall hits including “Hit & RUn” with Masicka, “Die For You,” and “Dating Szn.”
