Timothée Chalamet is gearing up for a big night on Saturday Night Live.
The actor starring in Dune and Call Me By Your Name is not only going to host the episode on January 25 but will also perform as the musical guest. This news comes right after Chalamet received a Golden Globe nomination for playing Bob Dylan in the movie A Complete Unknown.
This will be Chalamet’s third time hosting SNL, but it will be his debut as a musical performer. A Complete Unknown, which was released during the Christmas holidays, has received widespread acclaim from reviewers, with Chalamet being applauded for his remarkable portrayal of Dylan.
Prior to Chalamet’s appearance, comedian Dave Chappelle is scheduled to host SNL for the fourth time on January 18, presenting GloRilla, a rising star, for her first performance as the musical guest.
Chappelle’s latest comedy special, The Dreamer, is up for a Grammy for Best Comedy Album, while GloRilla has received two Grammy nominations for her hit single “Yeah Glo!” Notably, Chappelle won an Emmy for hosting SNL back in 2021.
This news arrives as SNL gears up to celebrate its 50th anniversary on NBC. The festivities include a weekend of programming that concludes with the live primetime special SNL50: The Anniversary Special on February 16.
Ahead of that, the four-part docuseries SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night premieres on Peacock on January 16, followed by NBC’s debut of Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music on January 27.
