Two men shot, injured near Arlington business and Mathews Bridge

The shooting occurred at 5:13 a.m. Sunday morning on Arlington Road and police believe the suspects shot at the victim again near the base of the Mathews Bridge.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two men were hospitalized after a shooting in Arlington Sunday morning, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.

There were dozens of evidence markers near 900 Arlington Road Sunday. 

One victim is stable after being shot in the chest and the other victim was shot in the leg. Bothe were described as men in their early 20s. Officers met the victims at the hospital.

The agency said two people standing in the road fired several times at the two victims, according to witnesses. Police said there was a separate scene near the base of the Mathews Bridge where they believe the same suspects shot at the victims again.

Police said the suspects were in a dark-colored SUV.
