Now that we’re on Episode 6 of Love Is Blind: Germany, we get to see how the cast members navigate being around their old flames. With everyone gathered together in Greece, the temptation to explore former connections might creep up.

Can the reality TV couples figure it out before it’s too late? Or will they fall apart before they get the chance to move in together?

The Love Triangle Is Put To Rest…For Now

We see Daniel and Hanni playing tennis together, and he jokes that he doesn’t like losing things, perhaps alluding to her connection with Ilias. We get a peek into what may be their first issue, the fact that Hanni might need more alone time than Daniel, but he assures her that he’s happy to leave her be whenever she needs.

Meanwhile, Ilias assures Alina that he’s confident in their connection, saying he’s realized over the past day that life is “100% beautiful” with her. While I personally don’t believe him (he’s wavered too many times for my own liking), Alina appears assuaged by his words.

Before long, it’s time to pack up and return to Germany. The next phase of the experiment will see the couples moving into shared apartments, testing how their compatibility works in a joint living space.

We get a glimpse of Marcel leading Jen through meditation, something Jen says she’s not used to doing with another person. For his part, Marcel says he welcomes the chance to “spiritually bond” with his partner. Jen tells the cameras that she’s happy to see Marcel excelling in his field:

This is his life purpose. I think it’s great that he found his passion with this.

She’s a bit surprised when Marcel tells her he likes to go on a ten-day silent meditation retreat once a year, and she jokes she herself wouldn’t even be able to shut up for a day.

An Old Ghost Resurfaces

We cut away from the experiment to find Medina and Sally, who we haven’t seen since their reveal after the pods. The two meet at a cafe, and Sally says she wants to talk about their miscommunication at the reveal, noting that she was so uncomfortable that she wanted to get out of it “as soon as possible.”

That said, she’s still wearing his engagement ring, and now they need to figure out what to do next. In what comes as a first in Love Is Blind history, they agree to move forward with the experiment, which means moving in together almost immediately after meeting each other in person for the first time.

We next see Ilias and Alina in their apartment. As the two are cuddling in bed, we hear Ilias tell the cameras that he’s still thinking about Hanni, and that it’s making him hesitant to sleep with Alina in case it isn’t a step in the right direction. Over in Hanni’s apartment, we see Daniel starting to bristle at her constant comments about the way he does things, such as cooking an omelet in the kitchen.

For her part, Hanni tells the cameras that teasing is her love language, and she’s surprised that Daniel takes it as hard as he seems to. Over at Sally and Medina’s place, he realizes how many cleanliness rules she has for him, which he says might be “a little scary.”

Later, Hanni and Daniel go boxing together, and she’s pleased to see that he’s not holding a grudge from that morning. We also see Jen meet with Marcel’s roommates, who are two women. They remark that Marcel can go quiet sometimes, and when he shows her his room, she remarks at how minimalist it is. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, however, she says:

I didn’t really uncover any new sides to Marcel, but that shows me he’s being his authentic self with me.

It’s beyond frustrating to see Ilias continue to lie to his poor fiancée. He tells her that Hanni hasn’t been on his mind at all, which is the exact opposite of what he’s been telling the cameras. The couples gather together for a cocktail hour that evening, and as soon as Hanni walks in, Ilias says, “Every time I see Hanni, all those feelings just come right back.”

Shella shows up, newly single, and she gets to meet her old match Fabio in person for the first time. For his part, Fabio’s also hoping to meet Alberta for the first time in person as well, and he seems very cutely overwhelmed to see both of his former dates in the same room.

He tells Alberta that he regrets choosing Shella over her, and that since he’s left the experiment, she’s all that he’s thought about. “Now, I want you,” he says, which, as any straight woman would surely feel, are the exact wrong words to say in the moment. To her credit, Alberta tells him she’s “not a fallback option,” and she leaves their conversation to go back and talk to her girlfriends. We absolutely love to see that kind of self-respect!

At the end of the episode, there’s another surprise guest: Hannah, Tolga’s former match who he’s also been thinking about since splitting from Shila. It’s their first time meeting in-person as well, and he tells the other guys he’s so nervous he’s shaking. When Hannah and Tolga chat, he explains that he and Shila determined they were better friends than anything.

Tolga explains that he chose Shila because she showed more of an interest in him, and Hannah calls him out for following his ego instead of his heart. I appreciate that Hannah’s able to banter with Tolga and also put him in his place, and already you can tell that he has a very different vibe with her than with Shila. The two agree that they feel something between them and that they’d like to explore what a connection in the real world looks like going forward. Could a new couple be forming this late in the season?
