A Minnesota mother confessed to sexually abusing two boys at a hotel during a hockey tournament while she was on vacation with her husband and  children.

The confession, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, allowed 39-year-old Allison Schardin to escape serving extensive jail time. A judge sentenced her to  two weekends in jail, granting her credit for five days already served.. She must also complete 200 hours of community service and register as a predatory offender for the next decade.

The prosecution  requested an eight-month jail sentence for Schardin after she pleaded guilty in October to third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Prosecutors said she lured the boys, identified as two Colorado hockey players, into a hotel room by claiming she wanted to escape her abusive husband. She then engaged in sexual acts with them.

Schardin “manipulated” the teens by claiming she had an abusive husband from her husband and then “took advantage of them,” prosecutors said.

“Victim 1] said they all started getting nervous and he was shaking on the bench at one point because he wanted to leave what happened the night before in the past and she was trying to follow them, ‘it was really creepy,’” the complaint said.

The incident happened on January 14, 2024, when Schardin approached the victims in a hot tub at a Roseville hotel. She complained about her marriage, which was reportedly ending in divorce, and admitted to cheating on her husband with another hockey player, according to a complaint obtained by CBS News.

Prosecutors said despite the light sentence, the victims experienced significant hardships due to the defendant’s actions.

“They have lost friends, and they have had to endure whispers and harmful comments from others, as if they were the perpetrators,” the prosecutors stated.

“Both victims were initially suspended from their hockey team, though they were later reinstated after they explained what happened. That victory was short-lived, however, as team officials then decided to cancel the rest of the season.”

Her sentencing also banned her from having any contact with the victims.
