Dragon Ball DAIMA, in many ways, feels like the perfect synthesis between classic Dragon Ball zaniness and the more action-oriented exploits of its modern iterations. There are many different reasons to appreciate Dragon Ball DAIMA, between the anime’s impressive world-building, stunning visuals, and creative new characters.

That being said, Dragon Ball is still an anime that many people turn to for cutting-edge combat and unbelievable battles. DAIMA has featured some fascinating fight sequences so far, whether it’s Goku and Glorio’s compelling clash or Vegeta’s Super Saiyan 3 debut. However, there are some tantalizing team-ups that DAIMA has yet to showcase that will hopefully come to pass before Dragon Ball DAIMA is through.

Shin Versus Degesu Would Be A Satisfying Fight Between the Siblings

A Proper Supreme Kai Fight Has Yet To Be Seen

One of the most interesting details to come out of Dragon Ball DAIMA so far is the revelation that Supreme Kai are actually part of a race called the Glind whose origins go back to the Demon Realm. In fact, Shin has tremendous reservations regarding a return trip to the Demon Realm because of his people’s history and that two of his wicked siblings – Degesu and Dr. Arinsu – are still Demon Realm residents. Shin’s pure-hearted nature is actually an anomaly as far as the Glind are concerned, and he’s considered to be the black sheep of his family.

Dragon Ball Z establishes that Shin is strong enough to take care of himself, even if his battle contributions in DAIMA have been minimal and more perfunctory. Shin may not be able to hold his own against Dr. Arinsu’s Majin creations or even Glorio, but a battle against his brother, Degesu, would hold a lot of value. Degesu has dutifully supported Gomah as the Supreme Demon King’s lackey, but he carries incredible resentment towards his brother. Shin and Degesu seem to be on comparable standing, so a battle between the two of them would be a close call, in addition to a cathartic cleansing for these estranged siblings.

Glorio Taking On Vegeta Could Shift the Heroes’ Status Quo

Vegeta Hasn’t Experienced Glorio’s Impressive Powers

Glorio is one of Dragon Ball DAIMA’s most intriguing new players. He’s worked as an ally to Goku and Shin since DAIMA’s start, but the anime repeatedly teases a secret partnership with Dr. Arinsu. It seems like Glorio is destined to betray the heroes, but such a trajectory for Glorio would almost be too predictable at this point and there’s hopefully more to develop on this front. However, it’s not hard to imagine Vegeta coming to blows with Glorio if he were to stumble upon one of the Demon’s secret phone calls and assume the worst about him.

Vegeta hasn’t developed the same relationship with Glorio that Goku has, and he wouldn’t hesitate to battle against him. Glorio and Goku briefly engage in a friendly fight. However, it’s likely that Glorio didn’t reveal the full extent of his powers, plus he knows what to expect from Vegeta after witnessing his prolific Super Saiyan 3 transformation. There’d be a lot of ego and bragging rights at stake in a fight between Glorio and Vegeta. Vegeta would almost certainly be the winner, but such a clash could also become a good opportunity for Glorio to show the full extent of whatever powers he’s been hiding.

A Namekian vs. Majin Showdown Would Be Legendary

Piccolo Is Ready To Showcase His Strength Against Majin Kuu

Dragon Ball fans are grateful that Piccolo is along for the ride and that all the heavy lifting in this anime doesn’t have to fall upon Goku and Vegeta. DAIMA clearly has big plans for Piccolo, but it’s unclear who he’ll battle against, since Super Saiyan transformations aren’t within his attack arsenal. With Majin Duu’s strength somewhere around that of Majin Buu, it’s unlikely that Piccolo will be able to defeat this enemy. However, it’s possible that Piccolo takes on Majin Kuu while Goku and Vegeta focus on his stronger brother. Piccolo would have a good shot of defeating Majin Kuu, especially with powerful attacks like his Special Beam Cannon and Hellzone Grenade at his disposal.

Furthermore, Piccolo’s signature Namekian abilities, such as regeneration and malleability, would likely catch Majin Kuu by surprise. Majin Kuu even seems like he would freak out and forfeit if Piccolo amplifies his size through his Super Giant-Form Great Namekian technique. Majin Kuu does have a bevy of powerful energy attacks and an unpredictable fighting style at his disposal, but it’s nothing worse than what Piccolo experiences in Dragon Ball Z. A victory over Majin Kuu would even be the perfect way to give Piccolo closure over his lackluster Buu Saga performance.

Glorio Against Majin Duu Would Be A Deadly Demonic Showdown

Glorio Has A Lot To Prove Against Dr. Arinsu’s Strongest

Dragon Ball DAIMA has made it seem as if Majin Kuu and Majin Duu are enemies who are destined to be defeated by Goku, Vegeta, or Piccolo. Alternatively, these powerful opponents would also be a satisfying way for Glorio to prove himself to the heroes and prove where his true allegiance lies. Glorio has been making secret backroom deals with Dr. Arinsu, so there’d be some extra intensity if she were to use Majin Duu to execute Glorio or if he decides to destroy Dr. Arinsu’s strongest weapon on his own. Majin Duu’s versatility and chaotic approach to combat may catch Glorio by surprise and push him on the defensive.

It’s very likely that Majin Duu is substantially stronger than Glorio, considering that Glorio was never strong enough to even defeat the weakest Tamagami, whereas Majin Duu defeated Tamagami Number One. This means that such a fight might just be a means to an end where Glorio holds the villains at bay, while Goku and Vegeta attempt to acquire the Dragon Balls or master the art of Join Bug fusion. There are still many mysteries that surround Demons, and it wouldn’t be impossible for Glorio to experience a Super Saiyan-level boost of power when he’s pushed beyond his limits by Majin Duu.

A Battle Between Piccolo & Neva Would Be A Rare Namekian Battle

A Fight For Namekian Supremacy Would Be At Stake

Another Dragon Ball DAIMA bombshell is the knowledge that Namekians originated from the Demon Realm and are actually a form of Demon. Neva, a Legendary Namekian who is thousands of years old, is responsible for the Tamagamis’ creation and possesses many impressive magical abilities. Piccolo is no doubt stronger than Neva in a physical sense. Piccolo is also in his prime and doesn’t find himself suffering from an advanced age. However, Neva has repeatedly shown off prolific power that allowed him to summon and reactivate Earth’s Dragon Balls and give Tamagami Number Two a major power boost.

Neva seems to have a deeper and innate understanding of Namekian abilities that Piccolo can’t comprehend. It’s not unreasonable to imagine that Neva could use his magic to weaken Piccolo and neutralize his Namekian techniques. There’s a lot to appreciate in a showdown between two opposing Namekian forces. Neva has also been depicted as a weaker character in DAIMA, but much has been established to give him a potential power boost and return him to his prime. Either version of Neva would still make a satisfying opponent for Piccolo.

Vegeta Would Have No Patience For Majin Duu’s Mayhem

Vegeta Is Excited To Showcase His New Strength Against Majin Duu

Out of all of Dragon Ball DAIMA’s disparate players, there’s perhaps the most appeal in a fight between Vegeta and Majin Duu. This fight is inevitable, but many fans already believe that Goku will be the ultimate winner, due to Dragon Ball’s past trajectory. Vegeta has more to prove here than Goku, and he’s likely determined to get as much mileage out of his new Super Saiyan 3 transformation as possible. Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta wasn’t even challenged against Tamagami Number Two, but Majin Duu might actually get him to panic a little and work harder.

Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta fought with such steely confidence and an unbridled ego. It’d be entertaining to watch Majin Duu’s absurdist attack style frustrate Vegeta and exacerbate his rage. Vegeta doesn’t like to be mocked in battle, especially when he’s got a new transformation to show off. There’d be tense emotions and reactionary energy blasts in such a battle. Vegeta may even attempt to use his Final Explosion attack against Majin Duu, if all else fails, to get redemption for his crushing loss against Majin Buu in Dragon Ball Z.

Piccolo & Glorio Both Have A Lot To Prove In The Demon Realm

Glorio Against Piccolo Would Be A Great Fight Between Supporting Players

It’s easy to get lost in big battles between Dragon Ball’s signature Saiyans and the anime’s most vicious villains. There’s plenty of value in tense, even altercations between some of the supporting players. For instance, Glorio and Piccolo may both not be strong enough to defeat Majin Duu or whoever becomes DAIMA’s final foe. However, a battle between the two of them would be incredibly exciting and reminiscent of Piccolo’s battle against Android 17 in Dragon Ball Z.

Glorio’s lightning-based elemental attacks would be a worthy match for Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon and other signature skills. Such an evenly-matched fight would be fascinating to watch and could trigger some unexpected developments. Piccolo has fused with other Namekians in the past in order to gain substantial power boosts. Perhaps Neva recognizes the past error of his ways and allows Piccolo to fuse with him in order to overcome Glorio.

DAIMA’s Two Strongest Characters Are Destined To Clash

Goku Versus Majin Duu Could Trigger Buu Saga Trauma In The Saiyan

Goku is Dragon Ball’s perennial protagonist and, at this point, audiences basically expect that he’ll be the one to overcome any antagonist. This seems to be especially true in an anime like Dragon Ball DAIMA, where Gohan isn’t along for the ride. DAIMA may still have some surprises on this front, but it’d be a true shock if Goku and Majin Duu didn’t come to blows at some point this season. Duu is currently DAIMA’s strongest villain and is even likely to pose a challenge to Goku if his strength is somewhere around that of Majin Buu.

Goku, even at Super Saiyan 3 strength, struggled against Kid Buu and wouldn’t have been victorious without the help of the planet’s population with his Super Spirit Bomb and a restorative Dragon Ball wish. Dragon Ball DAIMA could recreate the chaos of this epic Dragon Ball Z fight between Goku and Duu. Goku’s Power Pole and Duu’s unique body chemistry would keep both fighters on their toes. There’s also been murmurs that Dragon Ball DAIMA could mark the canonical debut of Dragon Ball GT’s Super Saiyan 4 transformation. If this is set to happen, then it seems like Goku struggling against Majin Duu would be the right context to make it a reality.

Shin & Glorio Could Collectively Take On A Tertian Oculus-Enhanced Gomah

Two Demons Could Help Humble The Supreme Demon King’s Chaos

Shin and Glorio have been Goku’s allies since Dragon Ball DAIMA’s start, even though they both represent very different Demon Realm extremes. It’s possible that Shin and Glorio’s contrasting magic could benefit each other in rewarding ways. A perfect situation for these two to work together would be if Gomah finally obtains the Demon Realm relic, the Tertian Oculus, which would help him ascend to unprecedented power.

Gomah hasn’t struggled to throw his weight around as the Demon Realm’s new Supreme Demon King, but he doesn’t seem to actually be very powerful, unlike his predecessor, Dabura. A version of Gomah who obtains this treasure and becomes a true threat would make for a satisfying battle against Shin and Glorio. DAIMA could build to a thrilling finale where Goku and Vegeta fight against the Majin siblings, while Shin and Glorio hold down the fort with Gomah.

DAIMA Deserves To End With a Fusion-On-Fusion Fight

The Return Of Vegito Is The Perfect Solution To A Potential Buu Fusion

Dragon Ball DAIMA has shown some impressive restraint and foreshadowing in some areas, such as the versatile Medi Bugs that Goku acquires early in his adventures. Medi Bugs have many unique properties that would be advantageous in battle. The Join Bug is one of the most interesting strains of Medi Bugs because they seem to facilitate the fusion of two or more individuals. It’d be a shame if DAIMA introduced such a concept, only to never follow through on it. There’s also a lot of appeal in the prospect of a kid-sized version of a Goku and Vegeta fusion. To be clear, there’s no guarantee that Goku and Vegeta eating Join Bugs would result in Vegito or a new fusion possibility.

However, it’s very likely that this fused version of the characters will be essential in Dragon Ball DAIMA’s final battle. Majin Buu was able to become more powerful by absorbing other versions of himself. It’s entirely possible that Majin Duu eats Majin Kuu to become some sort of “Super Duu,” the likes of which require Goku and Vegeta to fuse. This final battle would be extremely exciting and a spectacle that feels worthy of DAIMA’ endgame.
