Jessica Alba is the ultimate powerhouse when it comes to making a living. The actress-turned-businesswoman has garnered an incredible fortune, and after The Honest Company went public in May 2021, her earnings and net worth skyrocketed.

What Is Jessica Alba’s Net Worth?

Forbes reported in 2016 that Jessica was sitting on a nest egg of $340 million, largely due to her baby and beauty brand, which was valued at $1.7 billion five years after its launch. However, the outlet later updated that number.

“Even at the high end of the pricing range, Alba’s 6 percent stake (including options) would only be worth just under $100 million. That is far less than the $340 million Forbes estimated she was worth when we estimated her stake to be 20 percent and put her on our 2016 list of America’s most successful self-made women,” a follow-up statement read.

The Honey star is worth an estimated $100 million as of January 2025 thanks to her lucrative movie roles and business ventures, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

What Did Jessica Alba Earn From The Honest Company?

When going public with The Honest Company, she earned a one-time $2.6 million dividend, as well as her significant stake in the brand, per The Hollywood Reporter. In addition, Daily Mail reported the brand’s value rose to almost $2 billion shortly after going public.

Jessica went on to announce in April 2024 that she would be taking a step back from her major role. “It is with a grateful heart that twelve years after founding The Honest Company, I am stepping down from my leadership role as Chief Creative Officer,” the Good Luck Chuck actress wrote on Instagram. “However, I will continue to provide strategic advice through my role on the board.”

It was later confirmed that she no longer owns 5.6 million shares of The Honest Company as she sold 795,750 shares that same month.

Jessica founded the online marketplace, which sells endless baby products, beauty items, cleaning products, other household necessities and much more, in 2011.

As her website states, Jessica launched The Honest Company to “create safe, effective products,” and in doing so, they “go above and beyond to ensure that every product we develop lives up to our rigorous standards of safety, efficacy and integrity.”

How Did Jessica Alba Get Her Start in Showbiz?

Although the box office sensation can thank her business-like nature for her massive piggy bank, Jessica got her start in the industry thanks to her talents as an actress.

Jessica began her career in Hollywood when she made her debut in 1994’s Camp Nowhere, which led to her first recurring role in the tween comedy The Secret World of Alex Mack later that year. From there, she made guest appearances in popular projects, including Chicago Hope in 1996, Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1998 and Never Been Kissed in 1999. The California native also appeared in the Australian TV series Flipper from 1995 to 1999.

In 2000, Jessica landed her first major role when she was cast in the TV series Dark Angel. The hit sci-fi series, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Drama, ran for two seasons until 2002.

Throughout the next decade, Jessica — who wed now-estranged husband Cash Warren in 2008 — juggled her Hollywood career and life with her family. After the couple’s wedding, the Sin City actress and film producer became the parents of their three kids, Honor, Haven and Hayes.

News broke in January 2025 that Jessica and Cash have separated after nearly 17 years of marriage and are heading for divorce. Whether or not they signed a prenuptial agreement is unclear.

Despite her busy job as a doting mom, Jessica’s showbiz career has continued to thrive. She picked up credits in The Eye in 2008, The Office in 2009, Valentine’s Day in 2010, Little Fockers in 2010 and so on. Her latest work is on Trigger Warning, L.A.’s Finest, and Killers Anonymous.

Jessica spoke about her journey to becoming a businesswoman after a career in film during an interview with People in September 2021, explaining why she didn’t have any second thoughts about launching Honest.

“I didn’t feel like I had anything to lose,” she shared. “No one believed I could do it in the first place. [But] if you’re doing something that you haven’t done, or has never been done before, what do you really have to lose?”
