() President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration has been moved indoors after forecasts showed bitter cold weather expected for Monday, according to ‘s partner The Hill.

Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance will take the oath of office in the Capitol Rotunda as opposed to the usual location at the west front of the Capitol.

The forecast for Washington, D.C., shows an expected high in the low 20s on Monday, with a wind chill in the single digits.

That would make it the coldest inauguration on record since President Ronald Reagan in 1985. Reagan also moved his ceremony indoors because of the weather.

The change means fewer people will be able to watch the ceremony, which will also be broadcast on TV.

On Truth Social, Trump posted that the decision was made because he did not want anyone hurt or injured at the event and said the Capitol One Arena would be open for a live viewing and the inaugural parade.

Trump indicated he would join the crowd at the arena for his planned victory rally following his swearing in.
