An Alabama man was arrested earlier this month for allegedly sexually assaulting his 3-month-old daughter.

Troy police officers who responded to Troy Regional Medical Center’s emergency room on January 10 interviewed Kesean Wilmore, 22, and learned he had violated his probation. An ensuing investigation uncovered led to Wilmore being charged with raping his infant daughter, according to the Troy Messenger.

Pike County prosecutor James Tarbox said the baby suffered trauma to her genitals and buttocks, in addition to three broken ribs. Tarbox revealed that the girl underwent a three-hour reconstructive surgery for her injuries, WHDN reported.

Tarbox also told the news outlet that Wilmore’s daughter may have permanent injuries due to the sexual abuse and may require a colostomy bag.

Wilmore is charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy, incest, and child abuse. On Thursday, a judge ordered him to remain jailed without bond.
