Vybz Kartel has stepped forward to dismiss any chance of a lyrical clash with Beenie Man.

The two deejays have been taking subs at each other over who the current king of dancehall is. Dancehall legend Bounty Killer crowned Vybz Kartel the new king at the recently held Freedom Street concert, but his counterpart Beenie Man pushed back, saying he is still the king of the genre. Kartel and Beenie have both teased new music addressing the topic, leaving some fans to believe a lyrical showdown could be on the horizon.

In a video shared on his Instagram, the Portmore deejay says he is not involved in any clash nor has any plans to engage another artist in a feud. “It has come to my attention that people are saying Vybz Kartel is involved in a clash or some lyrical feud,” he stated. “Let me reassure you nothing could be further from the truth. A positivity Vybz Kartel a deal wid.”

Since his release from prison last year summer, Vybz Kartel has been preaching peace and positivity as he seeks to turn a new page. “No clashing me have no time fi that, positivity around here amout,” he added.

The artist says his music, business, God, money, and his family are his primary focus after spending almost thirteen years incarcerated for a crime he said he didn’t commit.

In the meantime, Vybz Kartel drops a new song with an accompanying music video, “Amout,” in which he dons a crown. “Yuh want fi take me crown which is how, pick up the eagle mayday pigeons down, ten missiles drop thirty more still him out,” Kartel deejays.

It’s unclear if the song is a diss towards Beenie Man, but Kartel has made it clear that he has no appetite for a clash with the dancehall legend.
