Jason Tartick may have had Erin Lichy on his podcast, but fans were quick to assume he was interviewing his ex-fiancée, Kaitlyn Bristowe.

“Do you want to know what happened when I reposted your story?” Tartick, 36, asked Lichy, 37, on the Monday, January 20, episode of his “Trading Secrets” podcast. “A ton of people were like, ‘Oh my God, I thought this was your ex-fiancée.’ I didn’t realize it, but the one picture I put [up] looked it. I was like, ‘Oh s—.’”

Tartick clarified that he doesn’t think Lichy and Bristowe, 39, “actually look alike,” but in that one photo, his reaction was, “Oh, my God.”

“They thought you were interviewing your ex-fiancée?” Lichy asked, to which Tartick replied, “They’re like, ‘I just had to do a triple check right there.’ I’m like, ‘No.’ Because that would have been an interesting interview.”

Tartick and Bristowe announced in August 2023 that they called it quits two years after their engagement. The pair have continued to offer insight on their split, with Bristowe hinting that Tartick had a “victim mentality” in the aftermath of their breakup.

“I don’t want to dismiss that he’s hurting. I don’t want to dismiss that his feelings are valid and his feelings are hurting,” she said during a January 2024 episode of her “Off the Vine” podcast. “I have talked to him so openly and honestly. We have been so transparent with each other to have respect for one another.”

After Tartick went public with then-girlfriend Kat Stickler months later, Bristowe seemingly weighed in on the relationship. “People make me f—ing sick,” Bristowe wrote in various Instagram Story posts in June 2024. “What people will do for attention is making me want to exit the internet forever.”

Tartick and Stickler, 30, have since split, announcing their decision to part ways in October 2024 after six months of dating. Bristowe, for her part, sparked romance rumors with Zac Clark on New Year’s Eve in 2023 — and swiftly shut down rumors she was unfaithful to Tartick.

“You would think by now I’d be used to the hate. I’m not. Your words hurt. Your shaming hurts. Part of me feels a little sad and honestly embarrassed for you guys because this shouldn’t be how you spend day 1 of a new year,” Bristowe wrote via her Instagram Story in January 2024. “You should not be this invested in someone you don’t even know or respect. It’s actually scary, and I know looking inward might be even scarier for you. But the bullying is next level. You are allowed to have opinions and feelings.”

She continued, “But you don’t even know the truth, and your HATE should actually come with consequences. I truly worry about some of your mental health. It’s not OK. It’s. Not. Please. Please feel ashamed of yourselves for treating someone this way who you don’t know. I did not kill someone. I had a party with some of my favorite people. Shame. On. YOU. Not me.”

In response to a separate post, Bristowe replied to the rumors directly, writing, “Here to say that there was never an ounce of cheating happening and I will not stand for this rumor. Y’all are NASTY in here. Anywho. Swear on my dogs lives. No cheating went on. So we can just put that to rest. Thank you!! Happy new year everyone. Go donate some blood or somethin!”
