Missing 96-year-old woman may have been displaced by Eaton Fire: LASD

() An elderly woman who resides in Altadena has not been seen since the Eaton Fire destroyed the community, and authorities are asking the public for help in locating her. 

96-year-old Elizabeth Jane Behny was last seen in the 2000 block of Pinecrest Drive in the unincorporated area of Altadena on Jan. 5 – two days before the Eaton Fire erupted according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.  

The area where Behny was last seen is approximately a mile away from where the Eaton Fire was first reported near Altadena Drive and Midwick Drive. 

LASD confirmed that Behny resided in a fire zone and may be displaced due to the fire that ravaged the community. 

She is described as standing 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighing 92 pounds. What she was wearing last is unknown, and she requires a walker to get around. 

Her family is concerned for her well-being, LASD said.

As of Saturday morning, the Eaton Fire was 95% contained, having already scorched over 14,000 acres and incinerating thousands of structures, including historic homes and businesses.
