Where Does Brynn Whitfield Stand With The RHONY Women Today? (Jenna Lyons Admits No One Talks To Her)

The Real Housewives of New York City Season 15 was the second season to feature the new cast of apple holders. However, the season failed to keep viewers entertained, and a prank by friend Rebecca Minkoff only made things worse. Viewership ratings were at the lowest they have ever been for a Real Housewives franchise.

It wasn’t until the season finale that fans saw real drama among the New York City women. During a cast trip to Puerto Rico, Brynn Whitfield accused Ubah Hassan of suggesting she slept with men to get on the reality TV show. Brynn then tearfully tells the cast that Ubah should have known she was sexually assaulted in the past. Ubah, who became enraged, adamantly denied knowing any of this, and production had to step in as Jessel Taank described the scene as “Mount Vesuvius erupted.”

The cast questioned if Brynn had made up a serious lie to make Ubah look bad after she later shared that she might not have remembered telling Ubah. However, she’s since doubled down on her statements about Ubah knowing her personal story in a Rolling Stone interview.

Viewers were certainly not expecting such a dramatic fallout among the women on the finale of RHONY Season 15. Although, Andy Cohen did tease that it would be “very dark.”

After the final episode aired, Rolling Stone published an article having interviewed Brynn Whitfield. The publication asked Brynn about the chaotic final moments, including where she stood with her cast mates after they felt manipulated and lied to.

But, before she remarked on each of her relationships with her cast members, Brynn shared that she felt “better after the reunion to clear the air on these things.” She compared the reunion (which will air on January 28) as “a workout”—it’s hard in the beginning, but when you do get through it, “you’re going to feel better for it.” Brynn believed that there was light at the end of the tunnel after their conversations.

“After the reunion I personally felt like—are we in a position where everything is fixed and perfect? No, not remotely. But at least we’re now, maybe hopefully at step one.”

Addressing the status of her relationships with her cast, Brynn told Rolling Stone that she was “always cool with Jenna [Lyons] and Raquel [Chevremont].” Throughout the season, Brynn appeared to be the closest to the two women.

She continued, “Erin [Lichy] feels like a sister. I was just texting with her and [her husband] Abe the other day, I feel like I’m fine with them.”

As for Sai De Silva and Jessel Taank, Brynn admitted that she needed to “work on” her relationships with them. Interestingly, when she spoke of Ubah, Brynn revealed that they would “get back” to where they once stood, but knew that it would take some time to “repair” their relationship.

After Brynn’s Rolling Stone piece was published, Erin took to Instagram to slam her cast mate.

In a lengthy Instagram comment that was shared by Instagram account @queensofbravo, Erin stated, “To say we are sisters is quite the reach.”

She continued, “We haven’t spoken or seen each other in months other than Brynn thanking Abe [Lichy] for clearing up the intention for the [prank] call—I really wanted Brynn to win so bad. I was excited to watch her shine like I am with all my girlfriends.” In addition, Erin said that she was angry at Brynn for “doubling down” instead of apologizing for manipulating her cast mates.

Jenna Lyons Revealed The Cast Was “Frustrated” Going Into The Season 15 Reunion

Jenna Couldn’t Believe How Out Of Touch Brynn Was The Following Day

Jenna, Jessel, and Raquel appeared on Watch What Happens Live after the Season 15 finale aired. During their conversation, host Andy Cohen asked Jenna how she felt when Brynn admitted that it was possible she didn’t tell Ubah about her personal story of sexual assault.

“I think that there had been things along the way with Brynn that have made me unclear about her intentions and some of the things that had been said. But I also know that she is someone who embellishes, and so I have chocked it up to that, many times…”

She continued, “At some point, it went too far and maybe it turned. It’s one thing to talk about yourself and embellish, it’s another thing to embellish stories that then hurt or people.”

In the episode, Brynn’s cast mates turned on her when she suggested that Ubah “didn’t clock it.”

In the previous Instagram post where Erin slammed Brynn, fans of the show labeled the marketing consultant as “dangerous.”

“Watch WWHL and look at Jenna, Jessel and Racquel’s faces when Andy asks if they spoke to her. There are lines and weaponizing your SA to take down another woman is beyond. We cannot normalize this,” a comment read.

Another comment read, “The constant grey areas Brynn brings to the very real and soul destroying SA experience, is so damaging. She is perpetuating whether or not someone is lying and it’s unforgivable. I’m not saying it didn’t happen to her, but to weaponise that she told Ubah is deplorable. I don’t like this show anymore.”

On WWHL, Jenna admitted that she was shocked to see Brynn so disconnected the following day in Puerto Rico. Brynn spoke about going horseback riding while the women were all in a state of confusion and distress.

“She’s not realizing what’s really happening,” Jenna told Andy. “She’s not able to connect to it.” When Andy asked what the cast’s “mindset” about going into the reunion, Jenna shared that the women were “frustrated.”

“When someone’s story turns into putting someone else in a dangerous position, or in an unhappy position, that changes the game,” Jenna said.

Brynn Stuck To Her Story That She Had Informed Ubah Hassan About Her Sexual Assault Over The Phone

In her Rolling Stone interview, Brynn was adamant that she told Ubah about her sexual assault story during a phone conversation. She told the outlet that she knew “for a fact that I said it,” but admitted that she doesn’t blame Ubah for not remembering it because so much more was going on during that phone conversation.

“It’s not right to assume that everyone remembers everything that you say all the time and then hold them accountable for that. I know for a fact that I said it, but when someone’s screaming into the phone, the other person might not necessarily hear them,” she told the outlet.

“I know what I said and I know that I did say it.”

Brynn revealed that she was “shocked” to learn that her cast members thought she was lying after she left Puerto Rico early.

“You’re telling me that in the three minutes from when I’m called horrible names by Ubah and I’m obviously upset that I somehow devised a plan? It’s disgusting that I’m talking about two things that I would hope that no woman or person would have to experience—suicide and sexual assault—and everyone’s like, ‘Brynn, we feel taken advantage of.'”

The reality star also told the outlet that it’s been difficult to read comments online about her. She said that “people don’t know the full story.”

Fans can watch the RHONY Season 15 reunion—and see where the women stand with Brynn—when it airs on Bravo on January 28.
