Timothee Chalamet pokes fun at award show failures as actor pulls double duty on 'SNL'

It was a Timothee Chalamet take-over on “Saturday Night Live” — with the Oscar nominee pulling double-duty as both host and musical guest.

The individual from New York hosted for the third time, making jokes about his recurring lack of success at Hollywood award ceremonies and his minimal facial hair.

“This is my third time hosting Saturday Night Live, but the first time hosting it with a little stache and a little goatee,” Chalamet joked, echoing the roast he received at the Golden Globes.

“Yea. That’s 37 hairs right there,” he said as the camera zoomed in on the wisps stubble.

Timothee then shared his feelings over constantly coming up short when nominated for awards.

“I just keep losing, and each time it gets harder to pretend it doesn’t sting,” Chalamet joked before showing a compilation showing his disappointed face while award presenters called out the names of his competitors Gary Oldman and Mahershala Ali.

Timothee then tried to practice an acceptance speech — but when the faux-award was announced, it was given to SNL castmember Kenan Thompson, who then gave his own acceptance speech.

Timothee then teased that the Bob Dylan songs he will perform during the show may not be Dylan’s most popular — but are his personal favorite songs.

“[SNL is] either really nice for letting me do this or incredibly mean and this is all a big prank,” Timothee said before throwing it to break.

Later, his first musical performance was introduced by Adam Sandler, and as promised he sang some Dylan deep cuts. He sang part of Dylan’s “Three Angels” and “Outlaw Blues” in the shows first of two musical performances.
