Dave Franco revealed his close friends have been comparing his looks to that of the alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO killer Luigi Mangione.
While at the Sundance Film Festival, the actor was asked about the physical resemblance between him and Mangione. He mentioned that he had received an overwhelming number of texts about it.
“Anyone who has my phone number has reached out about it,” he added.
Franco’s wife, Alison Brie, joked that “everyone” sees the resemblance between her partner and Mangione, 26.
Both the 46-year-old actor from “Pineapple Express” and the 42-year-old actress, who got married in 2017, were at the festival to promote their upcoming horror movie, “Thriller.”
Mangione, meanwhile, made headlines after he allegedly shot and killed UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson last month in New York City.
During the event, there was a disturbing incident where a suspect was seen waiting outside the Hilton hotel on Sixth Avenue, where Thompson was hosting a conference. The suspect later shot Thompson multiple times around 6:45 a.m. local time.
Mangione then allegedly fled the scene on an e-bike and rushed toward Central Park.
A cell phone believed to have been dropped by the suspect was found behind the luxury hotel.
On December 9, 2024, Mangione was arrested in connection to Thompson’s death while at a McDonalds in Pennsylvania.
Police uncovered a ghost gun, masks and other belongings that linked him to the fatal shooting.
Law enforcement sources told the New York Post that Mangione was allegedly holding a grudge against medical workers because of how his sick relatives had been treated.
Mangione is believed to have medical issues of his own, as he previously shared an X-ray scan of four pins in a spine via X. He also had a lengthy book list about chronic pain on Goodreads.
The University of Pennsylvania alum is sitting behind bars at the notorious Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, NY, where Sean “Diddy” Combs is also being held.
Mangione and the “Act Bad” rapper, 55, who is accused of sex trafficking, “will be on the same floor together at some point,” Page Six exclusively learned.
