London police search for 'Ted Lasso' thieves who robbed four homes featured in the hit show

Authorities in London are currently working on locating a group of burglars who targeted four residences that were prominently featured in the popular Apple TV+ show “Ted Lasso” within the past two months. Among the victims was a well-known English rockstar.

Multiple homes across London’s Richmond Green have been ransacked as the group remains at large. The houses were all used as sets for the show.

Residents in the area suspect that the houses were specifically targeted because of their shared involvement with the Emmy-winning series.

“It’s devastating. People are terrified they are going to be hit next,” one neighbor told The Sun.

The initial burglary took place at an eight-bedroom house on November 2nd. The criminals successfully stole a sealed case containing numerous valuable items, such as jewelry. Following this invasion of privacy, the tenants decided to relocate as a result of the distress caused by the incident, according to accounts from neighbors reported by The Sun.

In early December, the thieves made an unsuccessful attempt to break into a property worth $3.4 million that served as the on-screen home of Hannah Waddingham’s character. However, their efforts were thwarted as the occupants of the house awoke during the break-in. The burglars hastily departed the scene, leaving a ladder used in the garden to gain entry behind.

A four-bed house nearby was then desecrated on Dec. 18. The thieves once again took a safe with them — this time, one that had been bolted down. It supposedly contained nearly $500,000 of jewelry. The robbery took place just after the home’s residents had left, which raised alarm that they might’ve been watched or even staked out in advance, according to The Sun.

Rock musician Richard Ashcroft’s $9 million home was broken into on Dec. 29 while he and his wife Kate Radley were away.

The home’s alarms went off and neighbors notified police, but by the time they arrived, the raiders were long gone with an estimated $1.2 million of items stolen, including a luxury watch.

“The police would have stood a good chance of catching the gang if they turned up when called But now the gang are free to find their next target. We’re all now living in fear,” a neighbor told The Sun.

Police believe that the gang is made up of six total suspects. Four of them are believed to be those who break into the homes and always come equipped with crowbars. Two others are suspected of being in charge of keeping watch.

“You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to work out that someone from the gang probably watched the program at some point. They must have realized the rich pickings to be had from the area,” one resident told The Sun.

Locals worry that the “Ted Lasso” targeting group may also be behind the overall increased string of home thefts across Richmond Green.

“We are aware of a number of burglaries in the Richmond Green area and are taking proactive steps to deter offenders and reassure residents. Enquiries are ongoing. It is believed that some of the break-ins may be linked,” the Metropolitan Police Temporary Det. Supt. Dan O’Sullivan told The Sun.
