In the next episode of ‘Sister Wives,’ Meri and Janelle discuss their options when it comes to the Coyote Pass property.
The battle over Coyote Pass is heating up in the next episode of TLC’s Sister Wives. Meri Brown and Janelle Brown are considering lawyering up as they continue to butt heads with Kody Brown over the future of the Coyote Pass property.
Meri Brown doesn’t think Kody Brown should get to decide what to do with Coyote Pass
On Jan. 24, Extra (via YouTube) shared a clip of Meri and Janelle discussing the situation with Coyote Pass. The two women co-own the land in Flagstaff with their ex Kody and his wife Robyn Brown.
“I don’t think [Kody] get[s] to decide what we do with it,” Meri tells Janelle during a video call. “Sorry, you are not, like, the head of my family.”
“I feel like Kody and Robyn probably have some plan of what they want to do and how they want to handle it. I think that Janelle has some sort of plan. And I know that I do as well,” Meri explained in a confessional. “And none of us are talking to each other because none of us trust each other.”
The Browns purchased the Coyote Pass property in 2018 for $820,000. At the time, the goal was to build separate houses for each of Kody’s wives on the land. But that never happened, and in the ensuing years, three of Kody’s four marriages fell apart. His former wife Christine Brown sold her stake in the property to Kody and Robyn for $10 in 2022. In return, she kept all the proceeds from the sale of her Arizona house. But Janelle and Meri still have a financial stake in Coyote Pass.
‘Sister Wives’ star Janelle Brown thinks she needs a lawyer
Janelle tells Meri that she’s done playing nice with Kody and Robyn.
“I think it’s time for somebody to be pushing my interests,” she says. “I probably will get a lawyer. In fact, I’ve been talking to one. I hope you feel like that for you too.”
Meri agreed that after years of sitting back and not wanting to “ruffle feathers,” it was time to apply some pressure.
“I do. Because it’s been a year and a half since the last time I had that conversation with Kody,” she says.
“There’s been a lot of confusion surrounding the way things have been done in the family,” Meri says in her confessional. “The way Kody is with me and has been with me for many, many years. So I think that’s why I’m going to get a lawyer to help through this process … I will push the issue now.”
Meanwhile, Robyn and Kody admit they don’t agree over what to do with Coyote Pass.
“We’re in different places and it’s an in and out,” Kody explained in a clip from the episode shared with Us Weekly. “It’s like sometimes I want to keep it, sometimes I want to sell it. And Robyn knows we need to sell it but sometimes wants to keep it.”
