Chelsea defender Axel Disasi is reportedly on the brink of a January move to Aston Villa after agreeing personal terms with the Midlands club.

Negotiations between the two clubs over a transfer fee are ongoing, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

Disasi, who joined Chelsea in the summer of 2023 on a six-year deal from Monaco, has struggled to secure a regular starting spot under Enzo Maresca.

The French defender has made just four Premier League starts this season, prompting interest from Villa, who are seeking defensive reinforcements.

Unai Emery’s side are keen to bolster their backline after losing Tyrone Mings to injury and following Diego Carlos’s exit.

Villa have already spent heavily this transfer window, bringing in Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund.

They are looking to finalize a deal for Disasi before the window closes on February 3.
