Lil Wayne’s 15-year-old son, Lil Novi, is stepping into the spotlight with a major endorsement from his famous dad as he prepares to release new music.

On January 22, a clip surfaced on social media, showing the budding rapper delivering a hot verse in his upcoming song “Take A Step” while his superstar father stood by as his personal hype man.

Although Weezy doesn’t spit bars in the clip, his presence speaks volumes about his unwavering support for his son’s music career.

For Lil Novi, having his dad featured in the video is a massive boost.

“I just think it’s a good look and boost for my career having my dad being in the video,” the young artist shared with iHeartRadio. “It will get more people’s attention and make them actually tap into my music—not just because of my dad, but because of me and actual curiosity in my music.”

Back in 2020, Lil Novi (formerly known as Young Carter) made his debut on Lil Wayne’s No Ceilings 3 album with a track titled “Hollywood,” alongside his half-brother, Kameron Carter.

Since then, Novi has continued to make moves in the industry.

In 2023 alone, he released two EPs—Bat Kave and B4 The albVm—and has already kicked off 2025 with fresh singles like “Level Up 2” and his latest release, “2 KOOL 4 SKOOL.”

Novi’s manager, Jave Q, is super proud of his client’s growth. “Prada my artist @lilnovi_ for sticking to his own unique delivered sound “Take A Step” MUSIC VIDEO OTW,” he wrote on Instagram.

In an interview with Iheart, he added, “Being Novi’s personal manager and watching him grow as an artist for over 10+ months has been honorable. I’m incredibly proud of him and everything he has accomplished. Keep pushing, keep creating, because the world is only just starting to see what he’s capable of.”
