Taylor Swift praised her gal pal Brittany Mahomes for keeping her “so calm” during the nail-biting the NFL playoffs.
The singer, who has won 14 Grammy awards, showed her support for her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, as they won the AFC Championship game against the Buffalo Bills with a final score of 32-29 on Sunday.
Celebrating the Chiefs’ advancement to the Super Bowl, the 35-year-old singer, known for hits like “Fortnight,” and her 29-year-old boyfriend, Mahomes, reflected on the stress they had experienced in the past few weeks.
In a clip shared on X, the duo can be seen embracing as they dance to The Bee Gees’ track “Get Down Tonight.”
Standing on the field with Donna Kelce, her boyfriend’s mother, the singer expressed her gratitude to her for keeping her calm during the recent stressful times, saying, “You kept me so calm the last couple weeks,” as they soaked in the moment.
Swift added that her nerves got the better of her, but Brittany’s text saying “it’s gonna be okay” calmed her down.
“What a game,” said Brittany, who welcomed her third child earlier this month. “I was literally up there pumping, stressing.”
“My heart was in my throat,” Swift added.
Brittany was excitedly celebrating her husband, quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ fifth time heading to the Super Bowl.
At the end of the clip, Travis, 35, was seen chatting to his mom following the big win.
“We’ll be having a bunch of fun tonight,” the tight end said, adding that he “owns New Orleans” as he gears up for the Super Bowl final there.
Earlier on, Swift was seen excitedly jumping up and down after her boyfriend helped the Chiefs punch their ticket to Super Bowl 2025, their third straight Super Bowl appearance.
The couple, who’s been dating since the summer of 2023, kissed under red and yellow confetti during the trophy celebration.
Kelce has won three Super Bowls with the Chiefs (2020, 2023 and 2021) and lost in 2021 to Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.
Swift arrived at Arrowhead Stadium earlier in the day Sunday with her family, including mom Andrea, whom she hugged tightly after a Chiefs touchdown in the first half.
Kansas City is the first back-to-back champion to return to the Super Bowl, putting them on the brink of a historic three-peat.
The Chiefs and Eagles will meet in a Super Bowl rematch in New Orleans on Feb. 9.
Kansas City beat Philadelphia, 38-35, in Super Bowl 2023.
