U of I police searching for missing student

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — The University of Illinois Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a missing student.

20-year-old Krystian Kozieja was last seen around 2 a.m. on Tuesday near First and Chalmers Streets. Police described Kozieja as a 6’1 white male who weighs around 170 pounds and has dark hair.

He was last seen wearing a dark colored jacket and sweatpants, tennis shoes, and a Fighting Illini winter hat as pictured.

Police added that there is a heavier than normal police presence on campus Tuesday morning as officers are actively searching the area.

Anyone who sees Kozieja or has any information about his whereabouts should call UIPD at 217-333-1216 or the non-emergency dispatch line at 217-333-8911.
