BISMARCK, Ill. (WCIA) – Bismarck-Henning-Rossville-Alvin carried momentum from an impressive football season straight onto the basketball court.
However, the stellar Blue Devils’ senior class also carried an edge. BHRA football finished 11-1, losing in the class 2A quarterfinals. That loss fueled the student-athletes who play both sports.
“It did motivate me,” senior Chaz Dubois said of the sour ending to football season. “This is obviously my last season as a senior and I really just want to go far.”
The Blue Devils haven’t been shy about their goal of an undefeated season and the trophy which would come with it. However, they know to get there they have to be locked in each step of the way.
“We study the teams, make sure we’re prepared and just go get them out there when it’s game time,” senior Micah Stanford said.
Junior Keison Peoples joined the school as a sophomore, previously attending Schlarman in Danville and is grateful for the warm welcome he got from coaches and teammates.
BHRA improved to 23-0 on Tuesday with a win against Watseka.
