Today With Jenna & Friends guest host Ciara opened up about her marriage and family to Jenna Bush Hager this morning, but the singer made sure to keep some details to herself during the morning broadcast.

During their morning chat, Ciara and Bush Hager were discussing a recent interview in which Katy Perry said understanding her husband’s “love language” was the key to keeping their relationship strong.

Ciara admitted she and her husband of nine years, Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson, certainly cater to each other’s love languages. “I don’t know if my love language for him is appropriate for the morning time…,” she coyly joked on the show.

Bush Hager did not push her for more details but she fired back, “Yes it is, it always is on this show!”

Ciara, a mogul who runs multiple business ventures outside of her music career, told Bush Hager, “By the time I get to the end of the day, I feel like everything is pulled from me so being able to sit down and watch a show together allows me to connect. I wanna feel, I wanna be heard a little bit before we just jump right in.” The “Goodies” singer did not specify what they “jump right in” to, but viewers can guess.

She continued, “Men can have a crazy day and be like, ‘Alright, day’s behind me, what we doing?’ You know?”

Bush Hager laughed in response and noted, “Isn’t that so weird how different our brains work?”

Later in the broadcast, Bush Hager asked Ciara over a round of espresso rum martinis if she and Wilson had any plans on having a fourth child together, which would mark her fifth. Ciara said there’s certainly a possibility, though it won’t be happening any time soon if it’s up to her.

“I do, in a little bit of time. Just a little bit,” she teased. Ciara has one son with her former partner Future, while she and Wilson have three children together, the youngest of whom was born in 2023.

The singer explained that all of her kids have a three-year age difference between them, with her youngest child only just celebrating its first birthday. But, “If it’s up to Russ, [baby number five] is coming next month,” she added with a laugh. “We got a little time, baby.”

“I feel like if you get some of these things going, [baby number five] can be here any day,” Bush Hager joked.
