An American Airlines plane and Army helicopter collided over the Potomac River in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, officials said.
The regional passenger jet, from Wichita, Kansas, was carrying 60 passengers and 4 crew members when it collided with a Black Hawk helicopter near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. WUSA reported that an Earthcam located at the Kennedy Center filmed the moment of collision.
Three soldiers were aboard the Sikorsky H-60 when it crashed into the PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 over the Potomac River. CBS News reported that at least 18 bodies have been recovered amid the ongoing search for survivors.
No survivors have been found as of early Thursday.
