Father-of-eight, former NFL quarterback Cam Newton, jokes that he has too many “damn kids” to write “death letter” on a recent episode of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.

On the January 22 episode of the Fox series, the celebrity participants were tasked with writing “death letters” to their friends and families back home. Newton joked with everyone saying that his family was just too big to write a single letter to everyone.

“I ain’t got enough ink to write down all my damn kids,” the 35-year-old joked. “To my family, just know everything I did was to better the lives of everyone.”

“I guess it is true what they say, you don’t really enjoy the things until you no longer have them,” Newton continued. “I love to love on you: every kiss, every hug. Daddy loves you. Xoxo.”

Newton shares four children with his ex-girlfriend, Kia Proctor. Their children include: sons, Chosen Sebastian, Camidas Swain and Cashmere Saint and daughter, Sovereign-Dior Cambella. Newton also helps to raise Proctor’s older daughter, Shakira.

Additionally, the former Carolina Panthers athlete shares two children with photographer LaReina Shaw. Their children include: son, Caesar and Shaw’s older son, Jaden, from a previous relationship.

On an additional episode of the hit series where celebrities take on demanding training led by an elite team of ex-Special Forces operatives, Newton revealed that his retirement from professional sports has impacted how he provides for his children.

“I’m going into a different phase of my life that’s going to require a different form of myself,” Newton said. “Being in the NFL, everyone knows there’s a large sum of money that comes to you in a short span of time and being away from the game for three years, those checks don’t came in the same. Like I got eight kids.”

Newton added, “It hurts me knowing that I can’t provide like I once did. It hurts thinking that I’m Superman, but in reality, I’m just a man.”

Tune-in and watch Newton on upcoming episodes of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, which airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox. We have a feeling that this “next chapter in [Newton’s] life” is going to be a journey that we don’t want to miss.
