In a recent interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, 43-year-old Kelly Rowland revealed that she is one of “those parents,” so much so, that her husband has advised her to stay home from some of her eldest son, Titian’s, basketball games.

On the January 30 episode, the mother of two shared an update with the EGOT-winner about her two boys, Titan, 10, and Noah, 4, who accompanied her to the taping. She admitted to the American Idol alum, that she is definitely “the spirited mom” when it comes to cheering on her son while he is on the court.

“I had to pull back from some of the games,” Rowland said. “I’m the spirited mom.”

“My husband’s like, ‘You know, you should stay home this game. This team … I don’t know what’s going [to happen]’, and I’m like, ‘Word?’”

She continued stating that being in sports is really helping to teach her son a valuable lesson.

“It’s really great though because it’s teaching him sportsmanship.”

Rowland, as a complete and proud #boymom, believes in instilling solid and valuable life lessons in her children.

In an interview with Kindred by Parents, the Mea Culpa actress stressed that it was important for her to “get this right” when it comes to raising her children and enjoying all of their special moments.

“I just want to get this right. I want to really be a part of bringing some really amazing young men forth into the world. That was my only prayer,” she told the outlet. “I don’t know why I’m emotional, but my only prayer was to have really great young Black men in this world who were sure of themselves and didn’t have to be told who they were.”

She continued, “If we’re gonna grow our kids, like, let’s be lost in their interests and the things that bring them joy. Let’s have joy with them about it. I’ll sit out here and watch him do basketball or do whatever it is that he loves so much because I want him to know that I see it. It’s wonderful,” she continued. “It’s worth celebrating. You’re worth celebrating. Your try is worth celebrating. I love all that is you.”

The former Destiny’s Child member shares her two boys with Tim Weatherspoon. The couple married in 2014 and Rowland gave birth to Titan a year later in November, and Noah in 2021.
