A Florida man was arrested last week for possessing child porn — a discovery that was allegedly made by his adult son, who contacted authorities.

Google reportedly flagged Gene Follin’s account after it was used to upload explicit images of children to Google Photos. However, a break in the case occurred when Follin, 63, asked his 30-year-old son for assistance with his disabled Gmail account — leading the son to discover the illicit images on his father’s phone, according to The Smoking Gun.

Follin’s son reportedly told police about the images on Follin’s phone, leading to his arrest last Tuesday. The Smoking Gun reported that Follin admitted to saving the illicit images.

Additionally, a search of Follin’s phone allegedly uncovered 952 files depicting children or child erotica. The images showed girls as young as five years old being sexually abused, Pinellas County police wrote.

Follin is charged with possession of child pornography. He was freed from custody on Thursday after posting $100,000 bond.
