A tech CEO, who is the son of one of the world’s greatest ballerinas and heir to a Silicon Valley dynasty, was arrested for a violent sexual assault.

Andrei Karkar was detained at his nearly $7million condo in San Francisco on Saturday – the same day as his 47th birthday.

His mother, Natalia Makarova, is a distinguished Russian dancer once hailed by The New York Times as ‘one of the world’s great ballerinas.’

Karkar’s deceased father, Edward Karkar, founded Karkar Electronics, a telecommunications company that developed voice and data communications.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, police were called to a residence on the 100 block of Fremont Street just after 9 a.m. following a report of a sexual assault.

Property records show Karkar owns a condo inside a luxury building at 181 Fremont Street – the same block as the reported assault.

The victim told officers that she was forcibly raped and assaulted, and police identified Karkar as the suspect.

Records from the jail indicate that he was taken into custody for various charges including assault with a deadly weapon, rape through force or violence, damaging a wireless communication device, first-degree robbery, and false imprisonment.

Karkar’s lawyer, Eric Safire, declined DailyMail.com’s request for comment Tuesday morning, stating no charges have been filed against his client.

San Francisco County court records show a sufficient probable causing filing was submitted on Tuesday.

Karkar is the Chief Executive Officer at ERAS Holdings, which is the Karkar Family Office, which originated in his father’s company, according to their website.

He is a Georgetown University graduate and serves on the board of several organizations including Canadian business The Metals Company.

Karkar’s famous parents were married from 1976 until his father’s death on December 22, 2013, at the age of 81.

Edward Karkar was one of the first Palestinians to immigrate to America, according to his obituary.

Edward founded Karkar Electronics in 1959 and developed microwave filters, high-density multiplexers, single-side-band radio and satellite communications that were adopted as standards by the Department of Defense and NATO.

Karkar Electronics also became a main supplier to companies such as Raytheon, AT&T and MCI.
