Screenshots and audio files are flowing in after a $25,000 reward was offered for information about Breon Allen’s death.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — It has been more than a week since 7-year-old Breon Allen was shot and killed outside a Westside home. First Coast Crime Stoppers says the reward for information leading to an arrest has increased to $25,000, resulting in a spike in tips.

“There are so many steps that we take to ensure that your name, your personal information, and the details you’re submitting are protected,” First Coast Crime Stoppers Executive Director Chase Robinson said. “No one outside of yourself knows what you said or who you’re talking about.”

The reward was raised from $18,000 to $25,000 thanks to donations from community members. Since the increase, First Coast Crime Stoppers has received nearly two dozen tips, according to Robinson.

Robinson said the number of tips is on par for a high-profile case like this, but added that they have seen more traffic on the Crime Stoppers website. He said tipsters are providing detailed information, including screenshots and audio files.

Allen was killed in a gang-related shooting, according to authorities. He and his 21-year-old cousin were shot outside a home on Jacksonville’s Westside. Robinson emphasized that the Crime Stoppers process is completely anonymous, encouraging anyone with information to come forward without fear.

Investigators say even the smallest detail could help solve this case.

Anyone with information about Breon Allen’s death is urged to call First Coast Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS (8477) or STAR-STAR-TIPS (**TIPS) from a cellphone.
