(NewsNation) — The Central Intelligence Agency has offered buyouts to its entire workforce, NewsNation has confirmed.

“Director (John) Ratcliffe is moving swiftly to ensure the CIA workforce is responsive to the Administration’s national security priorities,” the CIA said in a statement.

“These moves are part of a holistic strategy to infuse the Agency with renewed energy, provide opportunities for rising leaders to emerge, and better position the CIA to deliver on its mission,” the statement continued.

The CIA is believed to be the first of the nation’s intelligence agencies to offer a package of a certain months of pay and benefits to quit.

The spy agency’s offers aim to align CIA workers with President Donald Trump’s priorities, the Wall Street Journal first reported.

The Trump administration offered buyouts to federal employees last month to try shrink the size of the federal government. However, some federal employees were exempted, including those in national security positions.
