A Miami mom was charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and aggravated child abuse after she allegedly beat her daughter with a metal guitar and broomstick because she had to wait 10 minutes until she came out of school.

An arrest report says that 52-year-old Sayda Orellana Castellanos was picking her daughter up after school on Monday in the Little Havana neighborhood and became frustrated at the wait, WPLG reported.

She reportedly became more irate upon learning that the daughter, whose age was not given, had been talking with a group of boys. The mother and daughter argued in the car, and the mother allegedly called her daughter a whore.

Once home, Orellana Castellanos ordered the girl to start doing her chores but became furious when the girl went to change out of her school uniform first. She reportedly barged into the girl’s room and began verbally insulting the child. The police report says the insults turned into a physical fight, and Orellana Castellanos grabbed her daughter by the hair and dragged her into the hallway, all the while repeatedly slapping her face.

The girl tripped and fell to the floor, and that’s when the mother grabbed the guitar off the wall and hit the girl with it, causing serious injuries. She also hit the girl with a broomstick hard enough to break it.

Police said the victim’s 15-year-old sister recorded the beating and gave her recording to police.

The victim had multiple lacerations to the face, scratches, a bruised eyelid, and marks on her back, which the reporting officer said showed “clear indications of permanent disfigurement.”

The girl was treated on the scene by Miami Fire Rescue, and the Florida Department of Children and Families was called in.

The police report did not say if the children were taken into state custody, handed over to relatives, or remain with their mother.

Orellana Castellanos paid a $3,500 bond (not a typo) and was released, Law&Crime reported. She is due back in court on March 5.
