(The Hill) – President Trump said he will be revoking former President Biden’s security clearance and stopping the ex-commander-in-chief’s daily intelligence briefings.

“There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information. Therefore, we are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings,” Trump announced in a Friday Truth Social post.

Trump said that his predecessor set the precedent in 2021 “when he instructed the Intelligence Community (IC) to stop the 45th President of the United States (ME!) from accessing details on National Security, a courtesy provided to former Presidents.”

“I just think that there is no need for him to have the intelligence briefings,” Biden said at the time. “What value is giving him an intelligence briefing? What impact does he have at all, other than the fact he might slip and say something?”

Trump also referenced special counsel Robert Hur’s 2024 report , which offered insights into Biden’s handling of classified materials.

“The Hur Report revealed that Biden suffers from ‘poor memory’ and, even in his ‘prime,’ could not be trusted with sensitive information,” Trump said in the post. “I will always protect our National Security JOE, YOU’RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

Since taking office in January, Trump also revoked different security measures for other officials who have criticized him all of whom have at some point gotten threats from Iran after the 2020 killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani.

He ended the Secret Service protection for his former national security adviser John Bolton last month. Trump pulled security protection for former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, The Hill reported.

The president’s Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, rescinded the security clearance and security detail of former chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, retired Army Gen. Mark Milley.

This week, former Defense Secretary Mark Esper’s security detail, provided by the Department of Defense, was also pulled by Trump.
