Voting is currently under way for two key byelections in Victoria as residents decide on their next member of parliament for the seats of Werribee and Prahran.

Former treasurer Tim Pallas’ resignation from politics in December triggered a byelection in Werribee and former Prahran MP Sam Hibbins’ resignation due to an affair with a staffer in November forced a byelection for Prahran.

Since 8am today, residents have been casting their votes in both districts.

Werribee is a seat held by Labor since 1976.

Prior to today, 48.28 per cent of voters in Werribee had cast an early or postal vote.

Meanwhile, in the inner-city suburb of Prahran, Greens candidate Angelica Di Camillo and Liberal candidate Rachel Westaway are also handing out flyers and meeting with voters.
