Teen Mom: The Next Chapter returned for season 2B last week. The premiere’s reception was lukewarm, and fans bemoaned the tedious nature of the premiere and the upcoming season. While the show is being called dull, the cast is bringing plenty of real-time drama. Over the course of the last seven days, fans have watched the social media meltdowns of several current and former cast members. Amber Portwood has, once again, gotten in on the action. The troubled TV personality took to TikTok to hurl fresh allegations at the father of her first child, and she’s suggested fans should boycott the franchise that made her famous.

Amber Portwood spends more time melting down on TikTok

Amber Portwood is using TiKTok as an outlet for her anger and rage, and most of that anger and rage is pointed squarely at Gary Shirley. Back in December, Portwood took to the platform to accuse Shirley of various wrongs. She disappeared from the platform briefly but returned last week to speak about him again. In her most recent Live event, Portwood criticized fans for defending Shirley. She also opened up about her feelings toward her ex-partner. She accused him of lying and using her over the years. Portwood also claimed that Shirley begged her to return to the show so he would have enough money to support his family.

Portwood wasn’t just angry with Gary Shirley and the viewers who defended him. She took aim at the franchise, too. The mother of two suggested her fans and followers stop watching the show entirely. Portwood claimed she didn’t “regret” her decision to take part in the show but seems angry that MTV continues to give airtime to Shirley. She appears irritated at the network for giving Shirley a platform.

Portwood contends that Shirley only has the show and a paycheck from the show because of her. While it’s true that the moms have always been the main focus of the show, their partners and former partners have all factored heavily into storylines, too. Since Shirley has custody of the daughter he shares with Portwood, he’s received more screen time than most of the show’s men.

Those closest to Portwood are reportedly stepping in

While Portwood spends her nights raging on TikTok, loved ones are reportedly trying to step in to stabilize the reality TV star. According to the U.S. Sun, loved ones have grown more alarmed with each new TikTok live. Still, it’s unclear what they are doing to help Portwood move past her recent mental health struggles.

An insider who spoke to the publication claims the end of her romance with Gary Wayt triggered Portwood’s recent spiral. Wayt and Portwood debuted their relationship on Instagram last year. He even proposed to Portwood on Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, but the relationship ended when Wayt left a cabin he was sharing with Portwood and disappeared in June. Wayt was later found safe, but the engagement ended. Following his disappearance, Wayt spoke to the media and claimed he felt pressured to propose. Portwood never commented on the allegations, but other Teen Mom stars did. Wayt’s disappearance was also covered in the series.
