Four of the 10 arrests were for driving under the influence, the sheriff’s office said.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office set up a DUI checkpoint on the city’s Westside that saw officers make 10 arrests from the 200 cars that passed through.
The sheriff’s office set up its “specialized traffic enforcement unit” in District 5 the weekend of Feb. 1. Officers stopped more than 200 vehicles and made 10 arrests, with four of them being for driving under the influence.
“Removing these impaired drivers from the road helps make our community safer for everyone,” JSO said.
The sheriff’s office concluded its post asking residents where they’d like the next checkpoint to be set up at.
