Jenna Bush Hager once vowed to set Hoda Kotb and Kevin Costner up with each other after the Horizon star paid a visit to Today With Hoda & Jenna. But it looks like Kotb may have taken matters into her own hands at the Super Bowl this weekend.
The retired daytime host shared a sweet photo of her and Costner beaming while posing together at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. Today fans appeared to approve of the pair together, as one even commented, “Oohhh They should date!!!”
Kotb’s former Today co-hosts Bush Hager and Savannah Guthrie also wasted no time in teasing Kotb about their once-rumored flirtation.
“New couple alert cc @jennabushager,” Guthrie commented.
Bush Hager replied to Guthrie’s comment with a joke of her own, writing, “We have been waiting for this moment.”
Kotb has not dispelled any rumors about their flirting, nor has she even denied that she’s interested in the Yellowstone actor. When Andy Cohen raised the prospect during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Kotb coyly replied, “Well, if the viewers want it…”
Bush Hager and the Today crew also surprised Kot with a montage of moments from their interview with Costner where he appeared quite smitten with Kotb.
“People were coming up to me in the streets, people were like, ‘You should set up Hoda and Kevin Costner,’” Bush Hager recounted to Kotb on the show. “And I was like, wow, I didn’t realize they were flirting behind my back.” She later vowed to “reach out to him later today” to set the two up.
Bush Hager took it a step further when she imparted some dating advice to Kotb before the NBC anchor retired from daytime television in January: “Don’t wear Spanx on a first date. Just in case.”
She continued as Kotb’s eyes went wide at her remark, “It’s true, take those Spanx off. I know you wear them every day. Do not wear them when Kevin Costner asks you out.”
And Costner isn’t the only celeb Bush Hager has tried to set her single co-host up with. She once embarrassed Kotb by offering Lenny Kravitz her number during the broadcast.
